The 24th of July has turned into a big party with our family and friends. We start the morning by attending the Parade down town. Dad and Aunt Jan rode with us and Chris followed in his car. Uncle Ard meets us there 'cause he is driving the trax train. This year we found our spot in the shade. Caleb stayed in his stroller the whole time which was nice. I just kept giving him snacks.
Around dinner time, everyone comes to my house for a Bar B Q and fireworks. I mean everyone. My siblings, Alan's siblings, my cousins and anyone else who wants to. This year after dinner, while waiting for it to get dark, the kids (and some adults) wanted rides in the side car. Alan and Erik gave rides in/on their motorcycles for awhile. The kids loved it.
Then the fire began. My cousin Jeff works for TNT Fireworks and does not let us down. I was told it was about $1200 worth of fireworks. There was some gasoline involved, (not condoned by me or Alan). And no one went to the hospital. We did manage to start some grass across the street on fire, but it was out quickly. (I'm not sure I should even admit to that, but there were tons of witnesses.)
Thank you to everyone who participated. Want to come next year? Just let me know and I will give you an assignment.

Count me out. I'd be too worried about fatalities.
But I guess so far no extremities have been lost or maimed so maybe we'll think about it.
I'm totally there next year. I'll bring the fire extinguishers. :)
