I am not going to post about Thanksgiving Day. It was a great day, but the day after is a ton of fun too. We have a family tradition of going into the mountains and cutting down a Christmas tree. We go to Island Park, Idaho. It is so pretty there we kill a tree and take it with us.
There a ton of fish there and you cannot fish for them. The kids enjoyed throwing cheese into the water and feeding the fish.
Back in the forest, Brett helped the girls cut down their own tree. Notice the scarf around the bottom similar to Charlie Brown. Also notice the girls refusing to zip up their coats. It is so fun to hang with family like this. After the trees are found we eat sandwiches by the fire and drink chocolate. The kids found a small hill to slide down and played with their trees. Caleb stayed in the car the whole time. Right when we got there, he got snow on his hands and he was done. When we get back to Grandma Shirley's house, she has taco soup waiting for us. She is such an amazing person.
This started before I can remember. I have heard stories about the first adventures in a car with Christmas presents hiding in the trunk. We have had many stuck vehicles and almost rolled a mini-van. I have so many pictures, but it is hard to track what year it was, because every one wears the same coat year after year. I am so glad my kids can go an experience some of the memories I have of childhood.

I'm so jealous. I've never been able to take my kids, we've never been around.
But actually my kids don't own coats so it would be an expensive operation.
what a fun tradition! It looks like you guys had fun!
I totally missed out this year, but I'm excited for next year with the baby!
Holy huge trees, Batman!
Tell you what. Next year, I'll give you ten bucks and you can just bring me one back. Alright, that's settled. Thanks!
