Sunday when we were getting ready for church, Caleb pulled the curling iron down and grabbed it with his right hand. Alan and I were not able to calm him down, so I took him to a after hours clinic while Alan took the girls to church.
The next day I took Caleb to the burn unit at the U. He is doing great. He has HUGE blisters in his hands, but the burn unit said they have seen worse. The bandage is to keep the blisters from getting infected when they do pop. I am to stretch his fingers each day to keep the skin from curling his hand as it heals. He is really good about keeping the bandages on.
This is the first major injury for our family. Hannah had a minor burn once, but her regular pediatrician looked at it. Is this because Caleb is a boy?

That picture makes his injury look especially sad! Hope he gets better soon.
SAD!!! I'm glad it's not too bad, but you never want to hear your baby's name and the word burn unit in the same sentence.
I am sorry to hear about Caleb. That is so sad. Glad he is Okay and that it wasn't any worse. You have done a great for this being your first major injury. My mom says my older brothers were always getting injured when they were younger and me and my sister never did. It must be a boy thing!! ;)
I would have been FREAKING out. Poor kid. Carter's had WAY more injuries than Ash. It's gotta be a boy thing.
I have to say, though, that I'm impressed with Alan. Ryan would've stayed home with the kids and watched TV all day instead of braving church with two kids. Kudos, Alan!
ouch!! Gosh that would kill me to see my little one like that. What a tough guy! Yes, it is a boy thing. Nate has fallen on his head sooo many times, we thought about getting him a complimentary MRI at the end of the year when the deductible is all met up....=)
Just wait until he's old enough to drive a forklift, and runs right into a pole at Lowe's...
